Actor collage with text asking if Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner should return for the final Fast & Furious. Includes "Lalonde Films" logo.

What is your favourite Paul Walker non- 'Fast & Furious' film? I'm going with Wayne Kramer's 'Running Scared'. If you haven't seen it, stop everything you're doing (after you read this article) and go watch it. Walker gives his best performance as a Mobster who is chasing down a gun that was used to shoot his neighbour. It is gritty, highly stylish, and a thrill ride that will leave you wondering why Walker didn't make more movies like this.

So, with the final 'Fast & Furious' nearing production, maybe, I want to bring this question to you on Vin Diesel's statement on one of the stipulations he wants for the film to have. And that's Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner will return for the eleventh chapter in the series. Walker sadly passed away in 2013 during production of 'Furious 7', leaving Walker's brothers Cody and Caleb to stand in for him using CGI.

To me, the two things that matter for his return are his family's wishes and storyline reasons:

Family's Wishes- His daughter, Meadow, appeared as a Flight Attendant in the previous film, so she is still in good graces with Vin Diesel. If his brothers want to reprise playing the role, then I don't see that anyone else should have a problem with it if they use CGI and not AI.

Storyline Reasons- I think it's no secret that every film without Walker has been missing something. I think Walker was always the heart of the franchise. I took on '2 Fast 2 Furious' upon a recent rewatch. Not once did I think Vin Diesel should have been in it. For plot purposes, having Brian written offscreen, not joining the action, never felt like it was in Brian's heroic and adventure-seeking character.

But let's put this topic to you for debate. What are your thoughts about whether Brian O'Conner should be returning?
