Hayley Atwell Confirmed For “Avengers 5 & 6” Return As Peggy Carter

I am like every Marvel fan that is hoping Chris Evans returns in the next two Avengers films as either Captain America or Johnny Storm. And we maybe are closer to seeing that as his on-screen love interest British actress Hayley Atwell is officially suiting up again for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, confirmed to appear in both Avengers 5 and Avengers 6.

The news surfaced in an in-depth report by The Hollywood Reporter about top entertainment law firms, which revealed Ziffren Brittenham negotiated Atwell’s deal for the upcoming Avengers blockbusters.

While speculation about Atwell’s return circulated late last year, her absence from the initial casting announcement led many fans to doubt the rumors. With this new confirmation, it’s now clear that Peggy Carter is making her way back into the action — and possibly the multiverse.

Atwell is no stranger to the MCU. She first portrayed Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger and has since appeared in Avengers: Endgame, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Ant-Man, and the animated What If...? series. She also led the fan-favorite TV show Agent Carter, which ran for two acclaimed seasons.

Outside the MCU, Atwell continues to build a powerful resume. She recently lent her voice to Lara Croft in Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft and is set to reprise her role as Grace in the upcoming Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, premiering next month.

With Anthony and Joe Russo back to direct Avengers: Doomsday, and filming about to kick off in the UK, excitement is mounting. Atwell’s return promises to add both nostalgia and intrigue to the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic saga.
