Jason Priestly Regrets Leaving "Beverly Hills 90210" Before It Ended In Season 10

What is your favourite prime-time soap drama? I'm going with 'Dallas ', which really set up the genre that shows like 'Knots Landing,' 'Dynasty,' 'Falcon Crest,' 'Beverly Hills 9020,' and 'Melrose Place' would follow.
Jason Priestly is opening up with former 'Beverly Hills 90210' co-star Jennie Garth’s “9021OMG” podcast about his regrets of leaving the show in the middle of season 9, thinking it would never end, only for that to happen the next year.
"The problem was I just, I couldn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. Aaron (Spelling), man, let’s end this. Let’s go out on top. I was like, well, I need to leave then. I want to go do other things with my career and in my life. If I’d have known the show was only going to go for another year and a half after I left, I would have stayed."
Show creator Aaron Spelling told Priestly, "They’re going to pull me off this set in a body bag, and we're never ending the show." I wonder why it ended: higher budgets or dropping ratings?
I recommend any fan of Priestly or the show to read his biography 'Jason Priestly: A Memoir,' where he shares several entertaining stories of being roommates with Brad Pitt, the backstage drama of filming the show, 'The O.C.' star Mischa Barton being a diva in a limousine, and partying with Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis in Vancouver.
