"Michael" Second Trailer Released Online What is your favourite musical biopic of all time?

Lionsgate has released the second trailer online for 'Michael'. Directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and written by John Logan (The Aviator), the film will see the rise of Michael Jackson, played by his real-life nephew Jafaar Jackson, as he goes from child pop star with the Jackson 5 to bonafide world superstar icon who would later own a pet monkey named Bubbles and sleep in oxygen beds with the bones of the Elephant Man.

The film was originally going to be 4 hours, but a lawsuit settlement with one of the kids who accused him of sexual assault doesn't allow that storyline to be used in a movie. So the ending was reshot and now finishes with his success in the 80s. If the film is successful, the sequel will be greenlit since most of its footage was already shot.

It co-stars Colman Domingo (The Running Man), Nia Long (Boiler Room), Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick), Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries), Laura Harrier (Doctor Odyssey), Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher), and Larenz Tate (Menace II Society). The film opens in theaters on April 24th, 2026.
