Which was the better adventure film series? Indiana Jones or National Treasure?
After years of silence, the long-anticipated National Treasure 3 is gaining momentum once again. According to trusted insider Daniel RPK, screenwriter Chris Bremner, best known for Bad Boys for Life, has been tapped to pen a fresh draft of the script. Bremner has been quietly attached to the project since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, but progress had largely stalled.
Now, the buzz is back. RPK reports that Bremner's latest draft has officially received the green light, breathing new life into the franchise. While Disney has yet to make an official announcement, the update suggests a renewed sense of urgency and enthusiasm from the production side.
Fans of the action-adventure series, which last hit theaters in 2007 with National Treasure: Book of Secrets, have been eagerly waiting for a third installment. With Nicolas Cage’s Benjamin Franklin Gates possibly returning for another historical heist, excitement is steadily building.
In 2022, Disney released the television series spin-off National Treasure: Edge Of History, which featured the return of several characters. I won't give a spoiler, but I recommend you watch it as it was enjoyable, and I wouldn't be disappointed if the main character played by Lisette Olivera returned.
Though plot details remain under wraps, the approval of this new script draft is a strong sign that National Treasure 3 could finally be on the horizon. Keep your eyes peeled, this treasure hunt may soon resume. Comment below with your thoughts.
