"Saved by the Bell" Cast Don’t Remember Many Episodes — Except The Beach Ones

What's your favorite Saved By The Bell episode? More than 30 years since Saved by the Bell first aired, Mark-Paul Gosselaar admits he and his fellow castmates often forget episode details—unless it involved the beach.

In an exclusive with PEOPLE, the former Zack Morris star explained, “This, for us, was over 30 years ago. It was work, so I don’t think most people can remember their work days, but they’ll remember the lunch they had with a coworker or a trip—and that’s how we remember our memories too.”

One fan mentioned a 1991 episode called “Mystery Weekend.” Gosselaar only recalled it because of his podcast, while Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley had no clue. “I was pleased to know they have a very limited memory of those events as well,” he said.

But some moments do stick. “We remember the beach episodes,” Gosselaar shared. “Not specifically one, but just the time filming there. Anything we did on location was a treat.”

The series aired from 1989 to 1993 with 86 episodes, and while the cast may not recall every plotline, their bond remains intact. “We text each other all the time,” said Gosselaar. “We don’t hang out regularly—life’s busy—but it’s like reconnecting with family. No time has passed.”

The actor, now 51, stars in NBC’s Found, which just wrapped its second season. Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Peacock.
