Which actor do you think should be the next James Bond? Henry Cavill? Idris Elba? Or another choice?

Acclaimed British actor Aaron Pierre has emerged as a potential contender to play James Bond, according to a new report from industry insider DanielRPK.

While casting rumors around the iconic 007 role have circulated for years, updates slowed dramatically when Amazon assumed full creative control of the Bond franchise in February. The studio has signaled plans to reboot the series with a new feature film, but details on casting direction have remained elusive.

Pierre, known for his breakout performances in “The Underground Railroad” and M. Night Shyamalan’s “Old,” has quickly become a rising star. In 2023, he headlined “Rebel Ridge” on Netflix and lent his voice to the titular character in Disney’s upcoming “Mufasa: The Lion King.” He’s also joining Season 4 of Apple TV’s “The Morning Show” and currently filming HBO’s “Lanterns,” portraying Green Lantern John Stewart.

If chosen, Pierre would be the first Black actor to portray James Bond—an evolution welcomed by many fans online. Early reactions on social media have been overwhelmingly positive, with audiences praising the potential for a bold, modern take on 007.

The reboot is being produced by David Heyman and Amy Pascal, though no director or production timeline has been confirmed yet.

As Amazon redefines the future of this legendary franchise, Aaron Pierre’s name now joins the elite shortlist shaping the next era of Bond. Comment below with your choice.
