What show from the old WB Network was your favorite?

Charisma Carpenter is voicing her hope for a long-awaited return to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe. The actress, who portrayed Cordelia Chase in the original series and its spinoff Angel, shared in a recent IGN interview that she’s optimistic about reprising her iconic role in Hulu’s upcoming Buffy reboot.

“It would be poetic,” Carpenter said, reflecting on Cordelia’s controversial death in Angel Season 5. “She was built up so big, she’d grown so much… and for her to go out the way that she did just felt so unjust.”

Carpenter was a fan-favorite on Buffy for three seasons before transitioning to Angel, where she remained a core cast member until her character’s abrupt and emotional end. Despite Cordelia dying in the spinoff and not in Buffy itself, Carpenter believes there's creative room to bring her back.

“I’m so hopeful to be included,” she said. “Writers are wildly creative, if Buffy can die and come back, why not Cordelia?”

The Hulu reboot, helmed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao and written by Poker Face creators Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, has already cast Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the new Slayer, alongside original star Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Gellar also echoed Carpenter’s sentiments in a separate interview, stating, “My dream is to bring back everyone who has died.” She emphasized the reboot will blend new and legacy characters, with a lighter tone than the original’s later seasons.

For longtime fans, a return of Cordelia could offer long-overdue justice, and a powerful full-circle moment in the Buffyverse. Comment below with your thoughts.
