What director do you want to do a 'Star Wars' film?

Hollywood Insider The InSneider is reporting that Steven Soderbergh isn't the only A-list director that circled directing a 'Star Wars' film but also the helmer of 'Seven', 'Fight Club', and 'The Social Network.' Yes David Fincher himself was in talks with Disney to do a film post 'Rise Of Skywalker' era.

While story details are unknown, talks broke down when Fincher wanted final-cut approval which the studio wanted nothing to do with, after they agreed on a story and budget. Fincher was actually offered to direct 'Rise Of Skywalker' which he smartly turned down which forced producer J.J. Abrams to step in to finish the trilogy he started with 'The Force Awakens'. I mean Luke's dead ghost holoprojecting to have a lightsaber fight with Kylo Ren, no wonder why Mark Hamill said that isn't his Luke Skywalker.

While I'm not typically a fan of directors like Fincher and Stanley Kubrick who do 100 takes for a shot where it isn't required mostly due to what the grueling experience would be like on set, his films are pretty electric and if he brought Brad Pitt with him it would make for a more cinematic experience than what the upcoming 'Mandalorian & Grogu' film will be.
