Dunesday Avengers Dune

Do you remember 'Barbenheimer'? That was when audiences were either choosing from Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie or Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer', which both opened on July 21st, 2023. 'Oppenheimer' was the better movie in my opinion, but 'Barbie' broke the billion-dollar barrier while the latter made $975 million worldwide.

December 18th, 2026, is now being called by movie fans as 'Dunesday' as 'Dune 3' and 'Avengers: Doomsday' both will open on that same day. Warner Bros is refusing to move on from that date since they scheduled 'Dune 3' first, which I think is a big mistake. Marvel fans have been waiting for a reason to return to theaters since 'Avengers: Endgame,' and this will be it.

Social media audiences are loving the 'Avengers' teasers that have been coming out this past week, which have focused on Steve Rogers and Thor. Two more are expected next week on Loki and Doctor Doom before a full trailer is released.

'Dune 3' may have the priority in IMAX theaters as they are using the same new IMAX cameras that Christopher Nolan is using in 'The Odyssey.' Whether one studio blinks first, we have almost a year to wait to find out.

Which movie are you going to choose to watch first? Comment below with your thoughts.
