The Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 finale, "Straight to Hell," delivered emotional weight and narrative tension, but it missed a major opportunity to truly ignite the Marvel Street-Level Universe—by not including the other Netflix Defenders.
As Matt Murdock rallies allies like Karen Page to resist Mayor Fisk’s brutal martial law and the AVTF’s grip, the stakes scream for backup. With Frank Castle imprisoned (briefly), the show teases a wider war brewing in Hell’s Kitchen. And yet, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand are nowhere to be found.
This was the perfect moment to reunite the Defenders.
Even just a mid-credit scene—a shadowy Jessica following leads, Luke surveilling Fisk’s inner circle, or Danny preparing to return from K’un-Lun—could have set the stage for Season 2 with explosive fan payoff. It would’ve connected Marvel’s past street-level legacy with the new Disney+ continuity, honoring what came before while thrilling fans for what’s next.
Thankfully, showrunner Dario Scardapane has confirmed Season 2 will arrive in March 2026. Here’s hoping Daredevil: Born Again does just that—bring them all back again.
