Kevin O'Leary James Bond villain 007

What are your thoughts on 'Marty Supreme'? Do you think it should win any Oscar awards? I'm still leaning towards Dwayne Johnson winning Best Actor for 'The Smashing Machine' and 'F1' the Best Film, even though I'm probably in the small minority who think that. While 'The Smashing Machine' wasn't a great film, and the couple fighting every ten minutes reminded me of my American Ex, I thought his performance was better than Timothée Chalamet in 'Marty Supreme' and Leonardo DiCaprio in 'One Battle After Another.'

Kevin O'Leary, star of 'Shark Tank' and "Dragon's Den' recently opened up in an interview with Variety about his next plans for acting after playing Milton Rockwell, the tycoon husband of Gwyneth Paltrow in 'Marty Supreme.' “My whole life, since I was a teenager, I’ve wanted to be the bad guy in a Bond movie. I want to blow shit up. I could blow a lot of shit up.”

O'Leary also talked about his hope for the movie theater experience. “I go to these large-screen formats. It’s not just the images, it’s the sound. Even in the most expensive home theater — and I’ve got one — there’s no way you can get that same feel. As long as the experience is unique, particularly these new theaters with full bar service, food service, incredible sofa-like chairs in a giant room with perfect sound and a 70mm-size screen, you can’t beat it.”

O'Leary made headlines earlier this year when he talked about AI replacing background actors, which he clarified: “I don’t think it’s going to be anytime soon that it’s integrated into filmmaking. What makes an actor magic is their life, who they are and what they mean to the fan base. It’s the same phobia we had when television hit radio. ‘Oh, it’s going to decimate radio!’ No it’s not. The art form exists today, even bigger, terrestrial and in space. To me, AI is just a tool.”

O'Leary referenced his old TV editing days, where he worked in sports television in Montreal: “I used blow-up sex dolls in the stands of hockey arenas when we were shooting so that people didn’t have to freeze for 16 hours. They were slightly out of focus. You couldn’t tell they were sex dolls.”
