Do you wish Mark Ruffalo would get his own solo film as the Hulk? Unfortunately Universal owns the character's distribution rights so unless Marvel agrees to a deal like they have with Sony (for Spider-Man characters), we can only see Hulk in other's films.
In an exciting development for Marvel fans, Mark Ruffalo is set to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, a joint production between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, according to a report by Nexus Point News.
While the extent of Banner’s involvement remains under wraps, sources suggest that it will be a significant supporting role, similar in screen time to previous mentor figures like Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Nick Fury in Far From Home, and Doctor Strange in No Way Home.
Ruffalo’s Hulk last appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+, where fans saw him at a family dinner with his son, Skaar. He showcased his unique ability to switch between Bruce Banner and his smart Hulk persona—Professor Hulk.
The film is shaping up to be star-studded and villain-packed. Recent reports indicate that Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone will feature as antagonists. Sadie Sink and Liza Colon-Zayas have joined the cast, while Michael Mando is reportedly in talks to return as Mac Gargan/Scorpion.
Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is directing from a script by Spider-Man veterans Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Filming is scheduled to begin in the UK later this summer, with a theatrical release set for July 31, 2026.
