Who is your favorite supernatural superhero?
Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider was on John Rocha's The Hot Mic Podcast, where he talked about the status of Marvel's 'Blade' that was set to star Mahershala Ali (Green Book), who was going to take over the role from Wesley Snipes (Demolition Man). The film was set to take place in the 1920s, and the costume department actually loaned their outfits to the 'Sinners' production after numerous delays.
Jeff Sneider: “Blade is dead. It’s not a rumor. I’m hearing Blade is dead and that it is a Midnight Sons movie. He will not be introduced in a solo movie, he’ll be introduced in Midnight Sons.”
'Midnight Sons' was a comic book team-up of all the Marvel supernatural characters like Blade, Hannibal King, Ghost Rider, Morbius, and Moon Knight. Sneider added, “I think it’s just gotten to the point where, ‘Yeah, I don’t think you’re gonna get your own movie,’ we can’t have a sixty-year-old Mahershala Ali fronting new comic book movies. So, I think it’s gonna be Midnight Sons.“
Ali is currently 52, whereas Snipes started playing the character when he was 35. I personally don't want to see a 'Blade' film, as that means in the entire history of the MCU, there were vampires, and not one hero knew this or Shield or Hydra. It's like in 'Aquaman' when those Trench sea creatures ruled the oceans, and no one knew. Well, maybe ICE knew.
Are you sad that a solo 'Blade' film is no more? Comment below with your thoughts.
