Lionsgate has released the first teaser trailer for 'Michael', the biopic of Michael Jackson that focuses on his childhood leading the Jackson 5 to becoming the biggest pop star in the world. He would also have a pet monkey, sleep in an oxygen chamber, and have enough plastic surgeries that even Mickey Rourke would probably go, "Easy fella."

Michael Jackson's nephew Jafaar Jackson is playing him in the film, which also stars Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick), Nia Long (Boiler Room), Colman Domingo (The Running Man), Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries), Larenz Tate (Crash), Laura Harrier (BlacKkKlansman), and Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher). The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and written by John Logan (The Aviator). It opens in theaters on April 24th, 2026.

The film hit a snag when it had to reshoot its entire third act due to a lawsuit his estate settled with the family of one of his child accusers, where they can't use the storyline. There are rumors that there is enough footage for a sequel, but it's expected that the first film will end on a rousing concert scene like most biopics do. Yay for music!
