"SPIDER-MAN" AND "SUPERGIRL" VIDEO TRAILERS BELOW ARTICLE:
What is your favorite movie trailer of all time? For me, without a doubt, it's 'Independence Day.' I have special memories of that film cause after I saw it in theatres, I knew I wanted to go to film school. There was something about the spectacle of it all that blew me away. I recently rewatched it, and it actually holds up better than its sequel that came out 20 years later.
It was a crazy week for movie trailer releases as Marvel's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' and DC's 'Supergirl' released their first and second trailers. As expected, 'Spider-Man' reigned supreme, grabbing 718.6 million viewers on all platforms in its first 24 hours compared to 'Supergirl', which fell behind with 9 million viewers. Which one did you prefer?
'Spider-Man' has since broken another record, becoming the first-ever movie trailer to reach 1 billion views, getting there in just four days. It crushed the previous film trailer record of 365 million views from 'Deadpool & Wolverine'. It also more than doubled 'Grand Theft Auto VI‘s' 475 million views, which holds the record for video game trailers. Also released this week was the second trailer for 'Masters of the Universe', which has gained 12 million views in two days.
The big question for movie fans is, whenever 'Avengers: Doomsday' comes out with its first official trailer, will it be bigger than 'Spider-Man'? I think we can all agree that we want that now.
