With James Gunn and Peter Safran rebooting the DC Universe, one of the biggest questions is: Who will be the new Batman? Since Robert Pattinson’s version exists in a separate universe, the main DCU needs a Dark Knight who can hold his own alongside Superman and the Justice League. Three names have been circulating—Jensen Ackles, Alan Ritchson, and Brandon Sklenar—but which one is the best fit?
Jensen Ackles – The Fan-Favorite

Ackles has been a popular choice for years, voicing Batman in animated films like The Long Halloween and even rocking a Batman-inspired suit as Soldier Boy in The Boys. He’s got the looks, the voice, and the acting chops to bring a gritty, seasoned Batman to life. At 46, he’d fit the role of an older, battle-hardened Bruce Wayne—perfect for the Brave and the Bold film that will introduce Batman's son Damian Wayne.
Alan Ritchson – The Powerhouse Pick

Ritchson, 41, fresh off his success in Reacher, has the physical presence to play an intimidating Batman. Standing at 6’3” and with a background in superhero roles (Hawk in Titans, Aquaman in Smallville), he’d deliver a brutal, action-packed Caped Crusader. However, at his size would he be convincing as Bruce Wayne?
Brandon Sklenar – The Dark Horse

Sklenar, best known for 1923, is the youngest option at 34. He has a brooding intensity that could bring a fresh take on Bruce Wayne, making him a strong contender for a younger Batman. If Gunn wants longevity and a slightly different interpretation, Sklenar could be a surprise pick.
The Verdict?
If DC wants a veteran Batman, Ackles is the safest bet. If they want a powerhouse, Ritchson is the way to go. But if they want longevity, Sklenar could be the future of Gotham. Who’s your pick?
