At CES 2025, Hisense shocked the TV world by unveiling 136- and 163-inch microLED displays—pushing a once-exclusive technology into the spotlight. Though pricing hasn’t been confirmed, expectations are sky-high; considering the Hisense 110UX mini-LED TV already retails for $15,000, its larger microLED siblings could easily approach or exceed the $100,000 mark. This positions them far out of reach for most households, keeping microLED firmly in the luxury category—for now.

That could soon change, according to Dr. Reaz Chaji, CEO of VueReal. His Canadian-based company has developed MicroSolid Printing, a breakthrough method of manufacturing microLED panels that bypasses the need for tiled assembly—an approach that adds complexity, cost, and visible seams when scaled down. Instead, VueReal prints semiconductors directly onto displays, using pre-assembled cartridges that can be inspected for defects ahead of time. This innovation drastically improves production yield and quality control.

When paired with Quantum Vue, VueReal’s patterning technique, the result is a high-performance, low-waste process that could finally bring microLED displays to standard sizes like 65 inches—and more importantly, to realistic consumer price points. “We can inspect for defects and uniformity before assembly,” Dr. Chaji explains, adding that the tech could even be applied to monitors, tablets, and laptops. If successful, this would eliminate the limitations of OLED (burn-in, lower brightness) and LCD (limited contrast), offering a truly future-proof alternative.

While VueReal hasn’t given a firm release timeline, the pieces are falling into place. Once production scales and ecosystem hurdles are addressed, we could see microLED TVs that are both high-performing and affordable—potentially bringing premium performance to living rooms without the six-figure price tag.
