What was your favorite new show last year?
Hulu has released the first trailer for season 2 of 'Paradise'. Starring James Marsden (X-Men) as President Cal Bradford and Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us) as his Secret Service agent Xavier Collins, the show is about an underground city three years after an asteroid has hit the earth, forcing the world powers to drop nuclear bombs on each other. But at the end of season 1, we saw President Bradford use a device which shut off all electricity on the earth, saving the world from nuclear holocaust. That world where Xavier discovers his wife, Teri (Enuka Okuma), is still alive.
The official season 2 logline is: “Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.”
The show also stars Julianne Nicholson (Togo), Nicole Brydon Bloom (The Gilded Age), Sarah Shahi (Black Adam), Enuka Okuma (24), and Charlie Evans (Leave The World Behind). Joining this season are Shailene Woodley (Divergent) and Thomas Doherty (Descendants).
I thought the airport confrontation scene (as seen in my thumbnail) in episode 7 was the best acted of the year, and was surprised they both didn't win Emmys. Season 2 premieres on Hulu February 23rd with its first three episodes before it goes to a weekly rollout.
