The Vancouver film industry is filled with interesting actors and now there's a bigger chance of them reaching fame reality show style.
Paramount+ is officially launching Canada Shore, the first Canadian spin-off of the global Jersey Shore phenomenon. The streamer has opened casting for ten dynamic Canadian singles between the ages of 19 and 26 who are ready to bring the heat to the North. The series, which will be produced by Insight Productions and air on MTV via Paramount+, is set to film in summer 2025.
Hopeful cast members are encouraged to embrace the "Shore" spirit: bold, outrageous, and unapologetically themselves. Erin Brock, showrunner and Co-Chief Content Officer at Insight Productions, promises a summer packed with “wild, unforgettable” experiences. “Canadians may have a reputation for being polite,” Brock says, “but we can be just as feisty, loud, and dramatic as anyone else.”
With the casting call open until April 30, producers are seeking individuals who want to live, party, and possibly clash with a new “chosen family” under one roof—true to the Shore legacy of love, drama, and chaos.
The Shore franchise, which kicked off with Jersey Shore in 2009, has since spawned 19 international spin-offs, including Aussie Shore and Frenchie Shore. Each edition blends the familiar high-energy formula with local flavor, offering fans a fresh lens on familiar antics. “We’re incredibly proud of how the ‘Shores’ franchise continues to expand around the world,” says Kelly Bradshaw, EVP at MTV Entertainment Group. “And we’re sure Canada won’t disappoint.”
While the exact filming location remains under wraps, fans and casting hopefuls alike are eager to find out where the Canadian drama will unfold. This marks the first official Shore adaptation in Canada. An earlier 2010 attempt, Lake Shore, made headlines with a viral trailer but never made it to air.
Vanessa Case, VP of Content at Paramount+ and Pluto TV Canada, believes the timing is perfect. “Canadians have loved this fun, shocking, and authentic format since Jersey Shore first debuted,” she said. “We’re confident Canada Shore will deliver the drama, laughter, and unforgettable moments fans expect.”
As the casting window closes later this month, all eyes are on who will become the new faces of Canada’s first official “Shore” family.
