"World War Z 2" Lands Edward Berger As Director
What is your favorite zombie film or show? I have to go with 'I Am Legend' with the alternate version ending where Will Smith's Robert Neville survives. My biggest complaint with shows like 'The Walking Dead' is that there's no trying to discover the cure. Human vs human colonies fighting each other is overdone.
Some good news for fans of Brad Pitt's 'World War Z' as Paramount Pictures has signed Edward Berger (All Quiet On The Western Front, Conclave) to direct the long-awaited sequel to the 2013 film. Can you believe that David Fincher was rumored to direct for years?
The film made $540 million worldwide and saw a historic retooling by dropping its third act, taking place in Russia with Pitt's Gerry fighting in the Army while his wife, played by Mireille Enos, was held captive by Matthew Fox's helicopter pilot, and was changed to Gerry discovering a way to hide from the infected in a WHO laboratory in England. Almost 40 minutes of footage went away, and it would be interesting now to see it.
