ABC is officially bringing back the beloved medical comedy Scrubs. The network has given a straight-to-series order for a reboot premiering in the 2025-2026 season. Zach Braff returns as JD, and he's reuniting with original castmates Donald Faison (Turk) and Sarah Chalke (Elliot). More familiar faces are expected to join.

Series creator Bill Lawrence is back as executive producer, expressing his excitement: “Scrubs means so very much to me. So excited for the chance to get the band back together.” The revival’s logline promises JD and Turk teaming up once again in a rapidly changing medical world, navigating Sacred Heart with both heart and humor.

Original Scrubs producers Tim Hobert and Aseem Batra will serve as showrunners. Braff, Faison, and Chalke will also executive produce. The series is being produced by 20th Television, with Lawrence operating under his Warner Bros. TV deal.

The reboot was first teased in late 2024, with Braff’s involvement confirmed in May 2025. The original show aired from 2001 to 2010 across NBC and ABC. This new chapter arrives as ABC expands its comedy slate alongside Abbott Elementary and Shifting Gears. Comment below with your thoughts.
