What is your best story of a difficult actor on set?

With news last week of Tom Hardy being fired from the Paramount+ British crime show 'MobLand' after filming completed of season 2 for diva behaviour, comes word he is still in talks to return for the third season. Reports came out that he made co-stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren wait for hours while he sulked in his trailer, demanding line changes and just pulling a power play on directors who were intimidated by him. Hardy was generally upset that his larger role got trimmed down for more of an ensemble piece.

This isn't the first time we have heard this about Hardy, as 'Mad Max: Fury Road' director George Miller previously talked about Hardy and his trailer: "Tom has a damage to him but also a brilliance that comes with it, and whatever was going on with him at the time, he had to be coaxed out of his trailer."

Patrick Stewart also talked in his biography about Hardy's sullen attitude on set when he played Stewart's clone in 'Star Trek: Nemesis': "I didn't have a single exciting scene to play, and the actor who portrayed the movie's villain, Shinzon, was an odd, solitary young man from London. His name was Tom Hardy. Tom wouldn't engage with any of us on a social level. Never said, "Good morning," never said, "Goodnight," and spent the hours he wasn't needed on set in his trailer with his girlfriend."

I'm sure everyone in the industry has worked with an actor who made life difficult on set, either from being method in character or a bad attitude, but at what point do we say enough is enough? As someone who's seen the first season of the show and eagerly waits season 2, I can say the show probably doesn't work without Hardy, although giving a larger focus to other colourful characters is a wise decision.
