Are you a fan of the Star Wars sequels, or do you think they ruined the original characters?
The Star Wars sequel trilogy reignited fan enthusiasm but also ignited fierce debate. Among the central figures—Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia—who suffered the most from inconsistent characterization? And why did they not even reunite them for at least one scene?
Luke Skywalker: The Fallen Legend

Once a symbol of hope and redemption, Luke's portrayal in The Last Jedi shocked many. He was reimagined as a disillusioned recluse, seemingly giving up on the very values he once fought for. While some appreciated the bold subversion, others felt it undermined his heroic legacy and growth established in the original trilogy.
Han Solo: From Rogue To Runaway

Han’s arc in the sequels paints him as a regressed smuggler who abandoned Leia and their son. Fans mourned his lack of evolution, especially after the touching closure he received in Return of the Jedi. His death in The Force Awakens lacked emotional buildup, leaving many unsatisfied.
Princess Leia: The Survivor With Untapped Potential

Leia remained a powerful leader, but her character was often sidelined. With Carrie Fisher’s tragic passing, the filmmakers faced real challenges. Yet Leia’s Jedi potential, teased in The Rise of Skywalker, felt rushed and underdeveloped, a missed opportunity to complete her arc.
Verdict: Luke Skywalker- While all three icons deserved better, Luke’s drastic change and melancholic end sparked the most controversy. His story, once filled with optimism and faith, was replaced by despair and withdrawal, leaving fans to question if the galaxy’s greatest Jedi truly got the ending he deserved, especially after he appeared in a famous scene in The Mandalorian to save Baby Yoda.
