Marvel Studios has unveiled the second trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps, giving fans a thrilling glimpse of Marvel's First Family as they officially enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Leading the cast is Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), alongside Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (the Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (the Thing). This dynamic team faces off against none other than the Silver Surfer, portrayed by Julia Garner, with Ralph Ineson joining as the ominous cosmic villain Galactus.
Unlike other MCU installments, First Steps is set in a retro-futuristic 1960s Manhattan, existing in a separate universe where the Fantastic Four are the sole superheroes. This bold aesthetic choice sets the tone for a unique standalone adventure, free of familiar Marvel cameos—at least on the surface.
This marks the team's true MCU debut following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Previous on-screen iterations date back to the early 2000s and a 2015 reboot, but Marvel aims to redefine the franchise with fresh energy and a visionary cast.
Though Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness offered a brief Mister Fantastic cameo by John Krasinski, and Chris Evans’ Human Torch appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine, First Steps promises a fresh origin story rooted in style, heart, and cosmic spectacle.
Expect new stakes, nostalgic vibes, and possibly a few multiversal surprises when Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters.
