What is the craziest on-set fight you experienced? On a Keurig war commercial that Ridley Scott's son was directing in Vancouver, I had a front row seat as two background extras in World War 2 uniforms almost came to physical blows as one of them went full Patrick Bateman and tried to fight the other, and I don't think anyone was sad when he was kicked off the set.
Timothée Chalamet was at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, where he participated in a Q&A with Robert Downey Jr and talked about his experience filming 'Marty Supreme', recalling one memorable moment with a background extra.
“I won't say who, but in that motel sequence, there are a lot of non-actors…that I find it really thrilling to work with, but sometimes it would take multiple takes to really get something out of them. And I'm really getting in the guy's face and I'm really trying to get him angry with me. I was saying to Josh Safdie, the movie’s director, he’s not getting angry with me, he's not getting angry with me."
But the Extra would flip the switch and become honest Chalamet said: “I did another take, and then the guy said, ‘I was just in jail for 30 years. You really don't want to f--k with me. You don't want to see me angry. I said to Josh, Holy s--t, who do you have me opposite, man?”
For those who haven't seen the film, halfway through, Marty stays at a motel where he comes into contact with the Desk Clerk and an Old Man with a dog. Also, his bathtub falls through the floor, landing on people. There are no other scenes where he talks to anyone, so it was most likely in a scene that was cut.
