What's your favorite Tony Scott film?

Legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed that a sequel to the 1995 submarine thriller Crimson Tide is quietly in the works , and Denzel Washington might be back on board.

Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Bruckheimer shared that a writer-director is already collaborating with the U.S. Navy to ensure the project’s realism. “We have a very good director-writer talking to the Navy right now about what’s going on in the water,” Bruckheimer said. “We have Denzel. If we give him a good script, I think he’d do it.”

That’s as close to a greenlight as Hollywood gets these days.

Originally directed by Tony Scott, Crimson Tide became an instant classic upon its release in 1995. The film delivered a tense, claustrophobic standoff between Washington’s principled executive officer and Gene Hackman’s aggressive submarine captain, with a razor-sharp script polished by Quentin Tarantino, and a now-iconic Hans Zimmer score.

While the identity of the new director remains under wraps, Bruckheimer’s comments suggest the sequel is deeper in development than anyone suspected. Though fans have speculated names like Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) or Christopher McQuarrie, no official confirmation has been made.

As anticipation builds, the big question remains: Who should direct? Comment below with your thoughts.
