Will "Doctor Odyssey" Officially Be Cancelled?

Did you ever watch the Ryan Gosling show Breaker High about a cruise ship that was for high school students who had apartment-sized cabins? What about the Love Boat where the Crew romance Passengers?

Stop dreaming! When you work onboard, your cabin is probably the size of a shoebox, and if you work in housekeeping and kitchen, you share it with three other people. And if you're caught in any romantic relationship with Passengers, you're fired and escorted to the nearest airport.

What makes the Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson cruise ship show Doctor Odyssey so funny. The Crew make out with Passengers openly in the dining room, and the Medical Staff's cabins are the size of the hidden Epstein Files.

I worked on cruise ships as a Videographer and have a previous article where I go more in-depth over the differences between real-life realities of working on a ship and the show.

While the show hasn't officially been cancelled by ABC, the cast's contracts had expired with the sets breaking down and the crew moving on to other Ryan Murphy shows.

Joshua Jackson in an interview with People Magazine said this:

“That was a really good group of people, and it was a really fun show. But this is a crazy and difficult business, and whatever the reasons were for them not wanting to move forward with it, they don’t actually tell us those things… It’s a bummer we don’t get to do it again, but I’m happy for the time that we got. It was a beautiful, over-the-top kind of experience that was like nothing else on television, I don’t think. They may make that show with somebody else. I have no idea what their plans are. They haven’t let me know, but I am not holding my breath that it’s coming back.”

So if you saw Speed 2 and think you can go onboard and shoot rifles off the back deck at clay pigeons or hijack a cruise ship using leeches like Willem Dafoe, I wish you well. Comment below with your thoughts.
