What is your favorite Antoine Fuqua film? I'm going with 'Training Day', it reminds me of the police version of Donald Trump and JD Vance.
It seems like Joe Jackson isn't the only demanding member of the Jackson family. Hollywood Insider Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic Podcast is reporting that the director of 'Michael', Antoine Fuqua, hid out in his van to hide from the difficult Jackson family members and their representatives, even directing from the vehicle. Can you imagine Steven Spielberg doing that on 'Schindler's List'?
The crew on set would nickname Fuqua "Vantoine". He apparently actually left the film a year ago when reshoots were ordered after they had to cut out the third act of the film due to a settlement with one of Michael Jackson's molestation accusers.
Fuqua was paid to “shut up and promote the movie," as producer Graham King took over the directing reins for the 22-day reshoots. King did that previously on 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with the much-aligned Bryan Singer. Does anyone here in Toronto or Montreal have stories on Singer's behavior for his 'X-Men' films?
Even though there were behind-the-scenes issues and mostly negative critical reviews, the film was a juggernaut at the box office this weekend, breaking the record for the opening weekend of a musical biopic with $217 million worldwide. Dewy Cox be damned.
