Avengers

I think the best film Marvel could make outside Avengers is Captain America returning the Infinity Stones to its rightful place in the timeline. Whether Chris Evans will return to the MCU is yet to be determined.

Marvel Studios has officially started production on Avengers: Doomsday, but the script is still far from finalized. Industry insiders have revealed that although a version of the screenplay exists, daily rewrites are expected on set. The lack of a finalized cast has also delayed major promotional reveals, including the studio’s signature casting announcement videos.

According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, the current script is being actively rewritten during filming because it's not yet up to Marvel’s standards. Film critic John Rocha echoed that sentiment, suggesting ongoing deal negotiations with high-profile stars are a key reason the script isn’t “done done.”

Marvel has a long history of evolving its scripts throughout production, and with a project of this scale—packed with A-list talent and multiverse elements—such adjustments aren’t unusual. Availability conflicts among top-tier actors are also reportedly contributing to the script's fluid state.

Rumors are swirling about returning faces, including original X-Men cast members and fan-favorites like Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, and Tom Holland—though none have been officially confirmed. Writers Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely are helming the screenplay, with the film scheduled for release on May 1, 2026.

Despite uncertainties, expectations remain sky-high for what could become one of the MCU’s most ambitious entries yet.
