Do You Want To See A "Dirty Dancing" Sequel Without Patrick Swayze?

What is your most hated sequel where the main character was replaced? Without a doubt, for me it's 'Speed 2: Cruise Control.' It's like they took Keanu Reeves' Jack Traven character name off the script and replaced him with Jason Patric's Alex Shaw. Not only do they share the same SWAT boss played by Joe Morton, but they also both are dating Sandra Bullock's Annie and have a run-in with Glen Plummer (with Traven in the Jaguar and Shaw on the speedboat).

Lionsgate has greenlit a sequel to 'Dirty Dancing' with Jennifer Grey returning as her character Baby, a spoiled teenager in 1963 who fell in love with her dance instructor Johnny Castle, iconically played by Patrick Swayze, at a Catskills hotel resort in New York. The film came out in 1987 and made $214 million worldwide ($450 million today), but really boomed with VHS and soundtrack sales.

The big problem with this news is that Patrick Swayze passed away in 2009 from cancer, and Grey is now 65 years old. Is her character enough of a draw to bring in fans of the original? Will the new characters be their grandkids who continue the legacy? Does anyone really care now if someone puts Baby in the corner?
