In a strange film choice for Glen Powell, the actor is circling the lead role of Gaston in a live-action 'Beauty and the Beast' prequel. The role was previously played by Luke Evans in the 2017 film. Were you a fan?
Dave Callaham (Shang-Chi) is penning the script's second draft, first done by Briony Redman and Kate Herron. No word on the director, but it will be a safe choice. This whole project seems a weird direction for Powell to go, but I thought that with his college football show 'Chad Powers', which I found very watchable. I think Powell's best role was in Edgar Wright's 'The Running Man,' but I think another 'Top Gun' film is what I'm most interested in seeing how his Hangman character evolves.
