What is your favorite female led action franchise? 'Aliens?' 'Kill Bill?' 'Tomb Raider'? 'Atomic Blonde'?
Hollywood insider InSneider is reporting that the 'Charlie's Angels' reboot that Sony hired writer Pete Chiarelli (Crazy Rich Asians, The Proposal) to pen now is maybe a sequel to the 2000-2003 franchise starring Cameron Diaz (The Mask), Drew Barrymore (Scream), and Lucy Liu (Chicago) as they are all rumored to return. Hopefully director McG (Supernatural) will follow them as he really made it a fun action film.
Elizabeth Banks directed a reboot in 2019 with Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Naomi Scott (Aladdin), and Ella Balinska (Resident Evil) that most people are only hearing about now. Of course, the 1970s TV show made stars out of Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, and Kate Jackson.
My biggest memory of the first movie is knowing that Bill Murray, who played Bosley, got into a physical fight with Lucy Liu. Apparently, when criticizing the script, he was verbally abusive to her acting ability, to which she physically responded. Bernie Mac replaced him in the sequel, but unfortunately has since passed away. Who would be the new Bosley?
