Jason Bateman John Grisham The Partner Tom Holland

What is your favorite John Grisham film adaptation? I have to say mine is 'The Firm,' although 'A Time To Kill' is the better film. My favorite Grisham book, 'The Chamber, ' actually is one of the worst films that was made.

Deadline has reported that Jason Bateman (Ozark) has signed on with Universal to direct John Grisham's 'The Partner', about Patrick Lanigan, a Biloxi lawyer who fakes his death to steal $90 million from his corrupt law firm. When the FBI catches him, he returns to face his wife and the child he left behind. It's actually one of Grisham's best books for pacing and twists. This will mark Bateman's third film he's directed after 'Bad Words' and 'The Family Fang.'

Tom Holland (Spider-Man) has also signed on to play Lanigan, and he wouldn't be my first choice as the character is in his 40s. Holland is 29 and could still pass as a teenager. To be honest, the character is kind of a jerk and needs someone like Kevin Spacey, who doesn't look like a teenager, but I'm sure wishes he still was.
