The next generation of Avengers is taking shape! Marvel Studios has officially revealed the cast for its highly anticipated film Avengers: Doomsday, during a live stream event across YouTube and social media.
The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be Marvel’s most star-studded event yet. Returning heroes include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Letitia Wright and Winston Duke reprising their Wakanda Forever roles as Shuri and M’Baku. In a major twist, Robert Downey Jr. returns—not as Iron Man, but as the villainous Doctor Doom.
A major surprise for fans is the return of several classic X-Men stars: Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. No word on Hugh Jackman's Wolverine or Ryan Reynold's Deadpool.
New faces joining the ensemble include Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) from the upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps. The Thunderbolts crew—Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman—also make appearances, alongside Simu Liu as Shang-Chi and Tenoch Huerta as Namor.
As Marvel continues expanding the multiverse, fans can look forward to Thunderbolts on May 2, Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25, and finally, Avengers: Doomsday landing in theaters on May 1, 2026.
