Michael Bay & Steven Spielberg Return To The "Transformers" Franchise
Updated: Oct 21
What is your favorite 'Transformers' film? I'm always going with the first which came out in 2007. It was fresh, the CGI was incredible, Shia LaBeouf's performance was entertaining, and Megan Fox was gorgeously filmed fixing the car.
Great news for fans of the 'Transformers' film franchise, as director Michael Bay and producer Steven Spielberg will return to their roles with new deals at Paramount Pictures. Will this film continue the storyline from Bay's films or be connected to Steven R. Caple's 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' and Travis Knight's 'Bumblebee?'
If it takes place in Bay's films, I'm not going to even get into what we saw last. I've written before about how the continuity of when the Autobots and Decepticons arrived on Earth has changed with every film. Mark Wahlberg led the last two films as inventor Cade Yeager, taking over from Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky, who starred in the first three. Megan Fox was replaced in the third film with Rose Huntington-Whiteley after Fox compared Bay to Hitler.
Michael Bay is my favorite director, and I will defend Bayhem to my death, and while I'm glad he's doing another film, I'd rather see him do a hard R like 'Bad Boys' or 'Pain & Gain.' What's left to tell with Optimus Prime? I hope they bring both LaBeouf and Fox back to team up with Wahlberg. One thing is for sure, and that's I will take every Bay shot as art. No films have inspired me more than 'The Rock' and 'Armageddon.'
