Are you tired of listening to the news talk about things like politics and world events, and would rather they focus on serious issues? Things like Elon Musk not recycling Coke cans or the Kardashians loitering on their private Malibu beach?
Netflix has just announced production of a live-action TV series adaptation of the Captain Planet animated series. The show was about five teenagers who fight environmental issues by summoning a superhero from combining their powers from a ring and yelling, "By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!" Yeah, so if one person sleeps in hungover, we're screwed.
The series will be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way and Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions. Paramount tried for a feature film that Glen Powell was writing, but it didn't gain any traction. The show will be written by Tara Hernandez, who was a writer and producer on Young Sheldon. Yes, so the chances of a crossover with The Big Bang Theory just became 2% more likely.
If Glen Powell doesn't star, who would you like to see play the superhero who wouldn't stop Thanos from wiping out half of civilization, but would step in if he drops a Kit Kat wrapper? Comment below with your thoughts.
