Are you old enough to remember wearing yellow sunglasses and frosting your tips?
Nick Carter has reignited hopes for a pop dream come true, a Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC collaboration. In a recent interview with Parade, Carter revealed that “conversations” have taken place internally between managers from both groups, although nothing has officially materialized yet.
“We’ve talked about it a ton, actually,” Carter shared, hinting that schedules just haven’t aligned. Reflecting on past team-ups like the NKOTBSB Tour with New Kids on the Block, Carter emphasized how impactful nostalgic collaborations can be for fans. “It was a really great experience for us and the fans. So we’re always thinking of really cool collaborations like that.”
This update follows AJ McLean’s earlier comments to E! News about a possible joint tour: “No one knows what the future holds.” He also noted that *NSYNC hasn't toured in over 22 years, adding another layer of mystery to a potential reunion.
While *NSYNC briefly reunited in 2023 for “Better Place,” their first new song in two decades, member Joey Fatone recently told PEOPLE that the group still hasn’t had the full reunion conversation. “The five of us need to get together,” he said, “and that day has not happened yet.”
Meanwhile, the Backstreet Boys are preparing for a nine-show Las Vegas residency this summer at Sphere, bringing their iconic 1999 Millennium album back to life. Howie Dorough called it “a comeback on the next level.”
Until calendars align, fans can only hope, but both groups appear more open than ever to finally sharing the stage. Comment below with your thoughts.
