Shawn Levy Turned Down Directing "Days of Thunder 2" For "Ghost Rider"

What is your favorite Shawn Levy film? Yeah, you probably had to think about that one extra long. His filmography includes 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' 'Real Steel,' 'Free Gu(y,' and 'Night At The Museum.'
In what will probably be good news for fans of Tom Cruise's 'Days of Thunder,' Hollywood insider Matt Belloni of Puck News has reported that Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Deadpool & Wolverine) turned down directing the upcoming sequel to team up again with Ryan Gosling (after next year's 'Star Wars: Starfighter') to do Marvel's 'Ghost Rider.'
Jonathan Levine (Mr. Irrelevant) will instead helm the film, and fans think he will be better able to handle the first film's director Tony Scott slick style of golden hour hero shots and Cruise's Cole Trickle to have big cinematic moments.
Levy would be a safe, easy choice. His films are entertaining and always come under budget and on schedule with no drama, and he is probably a great person to work with. But let's face it, we need a more auteur director to take over from Tony Scott, as Joseph Kosinski did with 'Top Gun: Maverick.'
Levy will instead stay in the Disney family, and 'Ghost Rider' will probably make him more money and praise. But my biggest question is: when will we get the 'Ghost Rider' multiverse film with Gosling and Nicolas Cage?
