Vancouver Film Industry: "The X-Files" Reboot Pilot Might Release As A Film

What is your favourite SciFi show filmed in Vancouver? I'm going with 'Sliders', which was about Jerry O'Connell and his friends travelling through alternate worlds trying to find their way home. Yet in every world they went to, Vancouver still rained for ten months of the year.

Ryan Coogler's 'The X-Files' two-hour pilot reboot for Hulu, which he wrote and directed, finished filming in Vancouver last month and is generating so much buzz that news is it may be released as a feature film in theatres, as Coogler has asked Disney to consider it. But the series hasn't even been picked up yet.

What makes this an exciting prospect is the film was shot on 65mm film by Autumn Durald Arkapaw, his DP on 'Black Panther 2' and 'Sinners'. The show stars Himesh Patel (The Odyssey) and Danielle Deadwyler (Rooster) as two FBI agents who reopen the division on paranormal activity.

No word has leaked if the original show's stars, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, appear, but it certainly would make it more cinematic on the big screen. Steve Buscemi (Armageddon), Amy Madigan (Weapons) and Ben Foster (Alpha Dog).
