Do you want to see Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner return for the last Fast And Furious film?
Vin Diesel made waves at FuelFest in Southern California this weekend by confirming that the final chapter of the Fast & Furious saga will premiere in April 2027. In a heartfelt surprise announcement, Diesel also revealed that Paul Walker’s iconic character, Brian O’Conner, will return for the grand finale.
The film, which will conclude a franchise that began in 2001, will bring the story full circle by setting the action back in Los Angeles, where it all started. Diesel emphasized the importance of filming in L.A., especially in the wake of recent wildfires, calling it a “homecoming the city needs now more than ever.”
Walker tragically passed away in a car crash in 2013, but his character has remained central to the saga’s emotional core. Diesel hinted that modern filmmaking technology and support from Walker’s family could make the return of Brian O’Conner possible in a respectful and meaningful way.
The untitled sequel to 2023’s Fast X is being billed as the franchise’s final film. With no other major films currently slated for April 2027, Universal Pictures is likely aiming for another massive box office performance. Notably, Furious 7—which honored Walker—remains the franchise’s top-grossing entry, earning over $1.5 billion worldwide after its April 2015 debut.
Now for my thoughts. Morally, I think if the Walker family is up for it and uses his brothers Caleb and Cody again to fill in for him, then there should be no problem. Storyline-wise, the films haven't been the same since his exit in Furious 7, and it's obvious his character was the heart of the series all along. Comment below with your thoughts on Paul Walker's return.
