The beloved teen drama "One Tree Hill" is set to make a comeback with a sequel series in development at Netflix. Original stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan are confirmed to reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, respectively, and will also serve as executive producers alongside Danneel Ackles, who portrayed Rachel Gatina.

The new series will explore the characters as parents to teenagers, delving into themes of love, insecurities, and grief through a female perspective.

However, Chad Michael Murray, who played Lucas Scott, says he and cast mate James Lafferty (who played his brother Nathan) has not been contacted about participating in the revival. In a recent interview, Murray revealed, "We're not doing it because no one's ever picked up the phone and said, 'Hey, we're doing this,' so we're not doing it."

Despite his absence from the project, Murray expressed his support for the reboot, stating, "I want it for the fans."

Murray's relationship with Bush, whom he married in 2005 and divorced in 2006, has been a topic of public interest. In 2018, Bush mentioned feeling pressured into the marriage, a claim Murray's representative called "ludicrous."

These past dynamics may contribute to his non-involvement in the upcoming series.

The revival aims to present stories through a female lens, with Burton Morgan emphasizing the importance of female teamwork in the project's development.

While fans eagerly anticipate the return of "One Tree Hill," the absence of key original cast members like Murray and James Lafferty has sparked discussions about the series' direction.

As the project progresses, fans hope for a series that honors the original while offering fresh perspectives. Murray's support underscores the enduring bond between the show's cast and its dedicated audience, highlighting the lasting impact of "One Tree Hill" on its viewers.
