The Force is strong with Hayden Christensen — once again. Lucasfilm has officially confirmed that Christensen will reprise his iconic role as Anakin Skywalker for season two of Ahsoka, the Disney+ series led by Rosario Dawson. The announcement was made during the Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan, to thunderous applause.
Christensen, who famously portrayed Anakin in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, made a triumphant return in Obi-Wan Kenobi and again in a de-aged appearance in Ahsoka Season 1. His return deepens the emotional connection between Anakin and his former padawan, Ahsoka Tano.
During the event, Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni and executive producer Jon Favreau discussed the show’s creative influences, including Princess Mononoke and George Lucas’ enduring affection for the character Ahsoka. A surprise teaser scene between Anakin and Ahsoka played before Christensen took the stage, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Production for season two begins next week in the U.K., and the cast grows even stronger. Rory McCann will step into the role of Baylan Skoll, and Admiral Akbar is confirmed to clash with Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Christensen’s presence remains one of the biggest draws at Star Wars Celebration. Despite stepping away from Hollywood for years, his return has reignited fan passion — and photo ops with him top the price list at over $200.
With filming underway and Anakin confirmed, Ahsoka Season 2 promises more legacy, more drama, and more Jedi than ever.
