Which 'Star Wars' trilogy is your favorite? The originals, the prequels or the sequels?
The Hollywood Reporter had a recent actors roundtable talk where Mark Hamill talked about his disappointment in the 'Star Wars' sequels. Mainly, about the lack of screen time with the original characters reuniting.
"Well, in the sequel trilogies, Harrison Ford. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Because I only had two cameos. In the middle one, I said, "Aren't we going to have a moment where all three of us get together to raise the roof? It'll only take 30 seconds." Yeah. And JJ said, "Well, Mark, it's not Luke's story anymore." I said, "Star Wars wasn't Obi-Wan on that story, but Alec Guinness had a crucial commitment, you know. Anyway, nobody listens to me."
I worked with Mark Hamill in 2015 on 'The Flash' episode 'Tricksters' in season 1, where he played the villain Trickster, who held a cocktail party hostage by spiking the drinks before The Flash saved everyone with the antidote.
It was a night shoot filmed in Surrey's city hall, and after we wrapped around 5 am or 6 am, Hamill was nice enough to go around and shake hands with about 100 crew and background extras. That always stuck with me for how he appreciated his fans, knowing fully aware how everyone was excited that day to work with him.
Is Mark Hamill right? Did JJ Abrams miss out on a big reunion scene? Comment below with your thoughts.
