What is your favorite soap opera storyline?
From 1999-2008, 'Passions' was, without a doubt, the most interesting supernatural soap opera on television. The show featured a Witch named Tabitha (Juliet Mills) and her "doll brought to life" henchman, Timmy (Josh Ryan Evans). Evans, who had achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, had the greatest on-screen chemistry with Juliet Mills in the history of TV duos.
Several storylines saw them try to kill off townspeople, which failed in hilarious results. Charity Standish (Molly Stanton), a good witch, would become her main adversary, where Tabitha did stunts like turning into a Dog to attack her, tying her to train tracks, conjuring demons from a fire, dressing up as Santa and trying to electrocute her Christmas tree.
An episode was filmed where Timmy becomes a real boy and then donates his heart so another may live, ending his own life. The writers wanted Timmy to become an angel, to keep his storyline going.
Josh Ryan Evans, the actor who played Timmy, died hours after the episode aired due to complications with open-heart surgery. The writers had to rewrite the storyline. Fans were shocked at how real life was imitating art. Were you passionate about 'Passions'?
